Christina dabbled in art projects throughout her life and took a few painting and drawing courses in college but it was after completing her graduate degree in administration that she put aside Thursday evenings for painting. She has attended adult education acrylic classes with Doris Haskel for over fifteen years. Starting with still life and landscape in acrylics, she progressed into abstract painting after attending workshops and classes with Pat Dewes, Shara Banisadr, Susan Herron and Betsy Dillard Stroud. She has also attended workshops and classes in watercolor with Wendy Daniels, Skip Alexander, Mel Stabin and Sue Moses. Currently, she studies watercolor with Firouzeh Sadeghi. Although her day job takes most of her time, Christina finds time to paint and engross herself in art at every opportunity.
Christina has exhibited and won several awards in shows including Kensington’s Paint the Town Labor Day Show, Sandy Spring Museum, Glen Echo Labor Day Show, the Village of Friendship Heights Arts Gallery, Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase Show, and Brookside Gardens. Memberships include Montgomery Art Association (MAA), Strathmore Art Association and Charles County Art Alliance.
